No.: HPM/PMH-013090 DESCRIPTION: A hilt of dark bone, with large truncated ears. The joining band of the handle is brass, undecorated. The blade is of steel, singled-edged, curved. On one side of the blade, gold damascened Arabic inscription, and on the other gold damascened plant and linear ornamentation. In translation the inscription goes: '1193. (AH). Made by Ahmed, owner Husein-Basha' . Scabbard wooden, covered in waxed cloth and plaited round with thin brass wire on the mouth and most of the way to the top.
