No.: HPM/PMH-003073 DESCRIPTION: Hilt of dark bone, with smallish truncated ears. Band of silver, decorated with plant tendrils. Continuation of the hilt simple, of silver. The blade is of steel, single-edged, curved. On the blade on one side a silver damascened ornament, and on the other an Arabic inscription that in translation runs: '1206. (AH). Made by Mehmed, owner Osman. The knife (sword) should be in the hand, the name of the Glorious on the tongue.' Wooden scabbard, covered with leather, and shod with metal. Scabbard damaged.
