    DESCRIPTION:
    A hilt of yellow bone plates, which end with graceful semicircular ears. Joining band of the hilt of sheet silver, decorated with embossed baroque tendrils in the middle and with two rows of larger and smaller beads along the edges. Lower part of hilt wanting. The blade is of steel, single-edged, curved. On the reverse of the blade a circular cartouche with an Arabic inscription, which in translation runs: 'The year 1212. (AH). Made by Mehmed, owner Salih.'
