    DESCRIPTION:
    Hilt of yellow bone, with rather large, truncated ears and carved folds on the bone plates. The blade is of steel, single-edged, curved. Along the whole length of the blade on one side silver damascened ornament, and on the other an Arabic inscription, which in translation runs: '1215. (AH). Made by Mustafa, owner Omer-Basha. / I rely upon my Creator, His slave Omer, may he be happy. / The knife (sword) should be in the hand, the name of the Glorious on the tongue.'.
    Wants scabbard. Missing band and continuation of hilt.
    Found in Bosnia.
    Donated by general of artillery Baron Josip Filipovic 1878.
