DESCRIPTION: A hilt of dark bone, with truncated ears. The joining band of metal, with baroque ornaments. The blade is of steel, single-edged, curved. Along the ridge, two narrow fullers. On one side of the blade, silver damascened ornamentation, on the other side an Arabic inscription that in translation runs: '1242. (AH) Made by Omer, owner Osman. / I rely upon my Creator, slave'. Wooden scabbard, leather covered, mounted in metal at mouth and tip. On the top mounting, a large lug. One bone ear is missing, as is the continuation of the hilt with the leaf-shaped decoration. Donated by Eugen Fabijan, proprietor and trader in Brinje, 1901.
