DESCRIPTION: A hilt of yellowish bone with rounded ears. Bone plates fastened with four rivets. The joining band of metal, fairly wide, decorated with baroque ornaments. Ferrule of the hilt decorated with hammered fish scale ornament; in the lower part passes into the blade, decorated with baroque vine scrolls. The blade is of steel, single-edged, straight. On the blade, on one side plant ornamentation and an Arabic inscription that in translation runs: 'The year 1230.(?) (AH) / Made by Agan (Husejn), owner Mumin.' Wooden scabbard, entirely sheathed in sheet metal. This yatagan comes from the estate of Josip Josip Stanicic-Music (1893 - 1980) from Baska Voda (Makarska), in whose family it was kept for several generations. The object and information about it were given to the museum by Stanko Stanicic, MSc, retired museum adviser, former manager of the Ceramic Collection in the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Zagreb.
