Made by Arif. steel, bone, brass; forging, carving, damascening yatagan: 570 : 435 : 32 mm Inv. No.: HPM/PMH-002804 DESCRIPTION: Hilt of ivory, with smallish long semi-circular ears. Hilt decorated with hammered ringlets and heads of brass nails. Band and continuation of the hilt of brass, decorated with a series of serrated lines, and between the ears at the joining band a series of bead-shaped convexities. The blade is of steel, single-edged, curved. On one side of the blade a damascened plant ornament, and on the other, also plant ornamentation with an Arabic inscription that in translation runs: 'Made by Arif, Sarajevo'. Wants scabbard.
