    DESCRIPTION:
    A hilt of yellow bone with truncated ears. Band of gilt metal, decorated with eighteen coral beads, fitted into mountings shaped like rosettes. Continuation of the hilt cast in a piece, decorated with etched and gilded baroque decoration. The blade is of steel, single-edged, curved, with a narrow fuller along the ridge. On both sides of the blade etched, party-gilt, plant and linear decoration and Arabic inscription that in translation runs: 'I rely upon my Creator, His slave Emin / O noble and eternal, bless this knife. / Do not allow its owner any fall while his life continues . Mohammed, intercede for your follower Emin // Owner and possessor Emin-Aga. 1242. (AH) / Yemliha, Mekselina, Meslina, Mernus, Debernus, Saznus, Kefestatayus, Kitmir (the name of the Seven Sleepers of Ephesus and the name of their dog). / Made by Omer'. Wooden scabbard, entirely covered with silver, richly decorated filigree work at the mount, and on the rest with baroque ornamentations. Tip in the form of a fish head.
