DESCRIPTION: Hilt of yellowish bone with semi-circular ears and carved folds on the bone plates. Hilt band of copper decorated with filigree work and inset coral beads (on the outer side four longish fluted beads, and on the inner side three round beads). On the continuation of the hilt, copper mounting with filigree decoration of ringlets. The blade is of steel, single-edged, curved, with a narrow fuller along the ridge. On the blade on one side a plant and linear decoration, and on the other an Arabic inscription that in translation runs: 'Made by Hasan, owner Ahmed. / I rely upon my Creator, the slave.' Scabbard wooden, covered in leather, brass sheeting mounted at the mouth and tip. At the tip of the lower mounting a decoration in the form of the head of a monster. Purchased from Mara Schwarz of Zagreb, 1982. Once belonged to the Dragutin Schwarz Collection.
